BG-BASE Connector
The APGG is working with the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University and BG-BASE on a method to connect BG-BASE with the ArcGIS Public Garden Data Model.
This connection uses Microsoft SQL Server as a bridge to allow simultaneous editing of plant records in BG-BASE and ArcGIS, and provides data model users with the capacity to view and analyze the wealth of information stored in BG-BASE using the power of the ArcGIS Desktop environment.
Collection Researcher
The
APGG is working with the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University to develop a GIS web application for living plant collection research.
This application allows visitors, staff, and researchers to explore and perform collection research on plants in their cultivated environments without having any GIS experience.
It allows users to search for plants, view information and images, markup, and print custom maps. It is integrated with online resources such as image libraries and herbaria to create a one-stop solution for plant research.
We have recently launched this application at the Arnold Arboretum and are working to make it available to other gardens in the future. Stay tuned!
